Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • ¼ loaf french baguette enough for 8 half-inch thick slices
  • 1 to 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 8 tsp hummus we use Cedar's Original Hommus
  • Pinch paprika for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with foil. Slice baguette into 8 half-inch thick pieces and arrange on baking sheet.
  • Spoon a bit of minced garlic onto each baguette slice, then spread it around with the back of the spoon.
  • Broil garlic crostini on LOW until lightly crisped, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from oven and transfer crostini to a serving dish.
  • Spread about 1 tsp of hummus onto each crostini, then sprinkle with paprika and serve.

Notes

French baguette: This recipe is a great way to use up slightly old or stale bread. If it's too tough to eat plain but soft enough to slice through it still, it's just about perfect for this recipe! (You can also use fresh baguette slices, but may need to broil them longer for the right crisp.)
Hummus: We swear by Cedar's Original - it's the best store-bought hummus we've tried, plus they offer a fully organic option! A good hummus definitely makes a difference in this recipe.
