Instructions

How To Assemble The Kickoff Burger

  • Prepare the Jalapeno Bacon Beer Cheese first, then let it cool in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.*
  • Prepare the burger meat, following steps 1-2 of our Classic Burger Patties recipe. When forming the patties, stuff each patty with about 2 tbsp of the cooled Jalapeno Bacon Beer Cheese.*
  • Grill the burger patties according to your preferred method, until desired doneness, topping with sliced cheddar cheese about halfway through cooking. Since these burgers are stuffed with cold cheese, we recommend cooking for a few extra minutes than you normally would.*
  • Spread about 1 tsp of Sir Kensington's Special Sauce on the inside of each bun.
  • Transfer cooked patties to buns and top each with a crispy onion ring.
  • Serve hot with your favorite side, a cold beer, and enjoy!*

Jalapeno Bacon Beer Cheese Filling

  • Shred the 2 oz extra sharp cheddar cheese with a cheese grater and set aside.
  • Melt the cream cheese in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Slowly add the beer, stirring or whisking constantly until fully incorporated.
  • Add the shredded cheese a little at a time, whisking constantly to combine, until fully melted.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the chopped bacon, diced jalapeno, and salt to taste.
  • Transfer to a bowl and let cool at room temp for about 10-15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before stuffing into burger patties.

Notes

Classic Burger Patties: This is our original burger recipe. We recommend using this since you'll need to make the burger patties from scratch in order to stuff them.
Beer: We recommend using a lighter beer for making the cheese filling. For this burger, we used some of the MadeWest Standard Blonde Ale we ended up drinking with our meal!
Onion rings: If you have an air fryer, it's the best way to get perfectly crispy onion rings for topping burgers with. We cook them at about 400 degrees for 8-ish minutes.
Jalapeno Bacon Beer Cheese Filling: You will end up with extra cheese after stuffing the burgers... it tastes delicious with some tortilla chips or fries if you're looking for a way to use it up!
Stuffing the patties: Our Cuisinart stuffed burger press makes it super easy to stuff patties with anything you want!
Grilling the patties: You can find directions for different methods of cooking our Classic Burger Patty here. We use our trusty cast iron grill pan and they turn out perfect every time!
Serving suggestions: The Kickoff Burger deserves the best game day side dish - crispy, spicy buffalo wings! Try our easy recipe here for making perfectly crispy wings in the air fryer.
